Devereux Environmental Crossroads
University of California Santa Barbara

Concept design for the adaptive reuse of underutilized buildings located on the South Knoll of the UCSB Devereux site focuses on a bold and inspiring biophilic identity for a collaborative hub dedicated to environmental stewardship and creates innovation.

Dilapidated and inward looking buildings are strategically renovated to take advantage of the ocean bluff site. Site rehabilitation, building orientation, generous openings, green roofs, and dynamic indoor-outdoor workspaces all foster a greater connection to place and support the institute’s mission.
